What is the Technical Operations Department?

Technical Operations (Tech Ops) at EPS encompasses a highly skilled team who conduct and oversee installations, inspections, rigging, and maintenance of EPS’ designs and equipment, or that of our clients. Tech Ops also provides training for co-workers, as well as for clients and companies seeking that expertise for their employees.

Who We Are Looking For

This role requires a positive attitude and a strong desire to solve problems. Team members work in unusual sites and circumstances. The members of the technical operations team will work closely with the Director of Tech Ops and Tech Ops Coordinator to ensure the achievement of project objectives. As a member of the Tech Ops team, you will be involved in rigging and automation installations, as well as inspections and regular maintenance for the equipment that EPS produces and installs. You will be responsible for implementing installations and performing inspections and producing reports while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Your goal will be to promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Your Day to Day

  • Attend meetings, in person or via video to stay abreast of the installations and upcoming projects to which you are assigned.
  • Prep for installations at the warehouse by pulling and packing equipment specified by the lead installer.
  • Produce tool lists and review drawings for the installation documentation.
  • Participate in the FAT of equipment to familiarize yourself with the installation process.
  • Work under the instruction of the site supervisor and Director of Technical Operations to install equipment as specified.
  • Provide feedback on completed projects.
  • Act as a secondary inspector for mechanical and theatrical equipment, assist in producing and reviewing inspection reports.
  • Safely use material handling equipment to manipulate large loads.
  • Responsibly use aerial lifts to access work areas.
  • Use various hand and power tools to secure and modify equipment for installation.
  • Work with the team to complete projects safely and efficiently.
  • Complete regular administration work such as filing receipts and timesheets.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices; implement new technologies and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate the values of the strategic plan, vision, and mission of the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications

  • Education/Training; Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • Experience with both new installation projects as well as installation into existing spaces/facilities.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in rigging.
  • Strong proficiency and experience with automated rigging systems, manual theatrical rigging systems, as well as an understanding of safe working practices with theatrical automation control systems.
  • Knowledge of SWR crimping, various rope splicing, fall protection, ANSI, and OSHA standards.
  • Existing ETCP certificate in rigging (or willingness to obtain).
  • OSHA 30 Certification, granted within the last 5 years preferred.
  • Valid forklift certification preferred.
  • Valid CPR/First aid certification preferred.
  • Valid Aerial Lift Certification preferred.
  • Fall Pro Competent Person preferred.
  • ETCP certification in rigging preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite including Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Fastfields (or willingness to learn).
  • Live entertainment experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Results and detail-oriented; proactive.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Adaptability and resilience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, vendors, and clients.
  • Exceptional organizational and strong time-management skills.

Your Work Environment

This position is located in the home office, Henderson, Nevada (or remote) and onsite. Anticipated travel is estimated at a 50-70% level. The schedule is based on projects and assignments.
