Who We Are Looking For
As the Design Manager reporting directly to the Director of Design, you play a crucial role in overseeing the design department's operations and strategic direction, under the Director's instruction. Your responsibilities include guiding design-specific activities and coordinating closely with project managers on broader project decisions to maintain alignment with overall objectives. You will regularly engage with project managers to refine project details, ensuring design specifications uphold our highest standards, and serve as a key point of contact for other department heads and upper management. Additionally, you take an active role in the initial phases of key projects, advancing designs up to 30% completion to establish a solid foundation. This role is designed to provide leadership and ensure that the design department functions smoothly, aligning with organizational goals and client expectations, whether the Director is present or otherwise engaged.
Your Day to Day
- Direct comprehensive design initiatives, overseeing the creation and integration of mechanical, electrical, and structural elements.
- Facilitate collaboration across design and engineering teams to ensure cohesive project outcomes.
- Present design concepts and progress to stakeholders, articulating technical details and strategic vision.
- Review and approve all final design documents before they proceed to fabrication or are delivered to the client.
- Set design standards and practices, ensuring all work complies with industry regulations and company quality standards.

Your Qualifications
- Preferred: Master’s degree (TD/ME/EE) OR Equivalent: 8-years experience as professional designer.
- OSHA 30 hr. (or willingness to obtain in first 3 months of full-time employment).
- Autodesk Certifications: Inventor Certified Expert, Revit for Architectural Design
- ETCP Theater Rigging, Preferred.
- Rhino: Level 2 Certification.
- AutoCAD drafting experience - Preferred: 1+ year.
- Inventor (or equivalent) - Preferred: 3+ years.
- Revit - Preferred: 6+ months.
- Team Leadership/Individual Project criteria
- Successful on large and medium design build projects.
- Meeting part specification budgets for their team on a consistent basis (80% of that time for a 2-year project history).
- Meeting design hour budgets for their team (80% of that time for a 2-year project history).

Your Work Environment
This position is in the home office, Henderson, Nevada. Most work will be performed in an office environment. Anticipated travel is minimal, estimated at a 5% level.
